Getting Grounded

The other day I chatted with my healer-friend Andrea and told her how sometimes I lay flat on the grass and look deep into the sky. How it calms my mind, brings me balance and clarity. And grounds me as worries and fears evaporate. She then suggested hugging a tree as another way to get grounded. So on my walk today I felt inspired to hug a tree but wasn’t sure where to do so. Somewhere out of the way, and out of sight from passersby who might misinterpret me as a crazy lady. And then I wondered, why would I care? What other people think about me does not matter. And feeling good tells me everything I need to know. So I did it! For a full 16-seconds. And of course, a rickety old truck bounced by. And for sure, whoever was inside had something fun to talk about in that moment.
